[Saturday, July 26, 2025] Alumni Class of 2005 returned to their alma mater for a heartfelt reunion, two decades since they graduated. They came not only to reminisce but to reconnect with purpose, give back, and celebrate the journey they’ve taken since their student days.
The gathering brought together former classmates, university staff, and alumni leaders for a day filled with connection, reflection, and renewed commitment. For many, it was their first time back on campus since graduation, offering a unique opportunity to revisit old memories and witness the growth achieved by the University over the years.
The day began with tree planting as a symbolic act of gratitude and legacy. Each tree planted marked not just the homecoming but their commitment to supporting future generations of Daystar University.
The alumni then enjoyed a campus tour that enabled them to walk familiar paths, rediscover treasured spaces, and experience firsthand the transformation Daystar has undergone. As they moved through the places where they once studied, worshipped, and forged lifelong friendships, conversations and laughter flowed freely, revealing a deep appreciation for what had changed, and what had remained constant.
The atmosphere grew reflective as the group gathered for a sermonette by Dr. Robert Aswani whose message highlighted the importance of living with Christ at the center of all endeavors.
“Whatever you do, let Christ be seen,” he said, inspiring the class to carry forward the values they embraced during their university years.
The Ag. DVC ARSA, Prof. Samuel Muriithi, commended the alumni for their ongoing connection to Daystar University. He called on them to play active roles in mentorship, sponsorship, and alumni initiatives. He shared exciting plans for a new communication complex to serve media and public relations students. He also appealed for support on key projects such as the Chapel construction.

Head of Alumni Relations, Dr. Leah Komen, underscored the critical role of the Last Mile Fund in helping students overcome financial hurdles to complete their education. She encouraged alumni to remain actively connected, not just to Daystar University but also to each other, by engaging in mentorship, career development, and welfare initiatives. Highlighting that true alumni involvement is built on consistency and community, Dr. Komen called on them to strengthen these bonds.
The Chair of DUAA Global Board Dr. Anthony Mburu, highlighted the crucial role alumni play as ambassadors of the university’s mission. He urged the Class of 2005 to give back generously and lead initiatives that support current students. Reinforcing Dr. Leah’s message, Dr. Mburu also stressed that sustained alumni commitment is essential to advancing Daystar’s goals.
As the formal program concluded, the Class of 2005 proudly launched their alumni chapter, signaling a renewed commitment to structured engagement, long-term impact, and stronger bonds among Daystar graduates.
The reunion ended on a joyful note with the cutting of a celebratory cake, smiles, photographs, and heartfelt promises to meet again soon. Beyond the celebration, the reunion reinforced something deeper: that no matter how far back alumni go or how much time passes, Daystar remains a place they can always return to and still belong.
